No testing on a Animals means NO testing on Animals, Estée Lauder, Avon, Revlon, Mary Kay!!!!!!

Avon, Mary Kay, Estée Lauder, and Revlon Are Paying for Tests on Animals
For more than two decades, Avon, Mary Kay, Estee Lauder, and Revlon have been among the largest mainstream international companies on PETA’s cruelty-free lists. Avon banned all tests on animals following PETA’s massive “Avon Killing” campaign, and Mary Kay pledged to go cruelty-free after cartoonist Berkeley Breathed mocked the company in his popular Bloom County comic strip. Since then, all four companies have enjoyed the support of PETA and millions of consumers who choose to buy cosmetics from companies that don’t harm animals. But now we have learned that all four companies have been paying for tests on animals in order to sell their products in China—and they did not inform PETA or consumers that their policies had changed. We have no choice but to downgrade them by placing them on our list of companies that test on animals.

When we learned that the Chinese government requires tests on animals before many cosmetics products can be marketed in China, we immediately contacted the companies. While we understand that China is an enormous market that these companies aren’t willing to ignore, we had hoped they would take action to eliminate this requirement or push for non-animal testing methods to be accepted. Mary Kay had taken some steps to work with officials in China, and at our urging, promised to continue this effort—but Avon, Estee Lauder, and Revlon appear to have gone along with the painful animal tests without objection.

Since PETA first exposed the Chinese government’s requirements for animal tests for cosmetics in 2012, we have provided the expert scientists at the Institute for In Vitro Sciences (IIVS) with funding both to educate scientists in China on superior, non-animal testing methods and to provide government officials there with guidance on accepting non-animal testing methods and developing a five-year plan to accept the tests currently used in the U.S. and Europe.

Fortunately, there are still more than 1,500 companies on our global “Don’t Test” list whose products consumers can buy with a clear conscience.

Please take a moment to let Avon, Mary Kay, Estee Lauder, and Revlon know that you are disappointed in their backsliding and that you will no longer buy the companies’ products as long they are tested on animals.

Prom makeup and Dresses! How to make a Dream come true!!

Girls, Ladies, this is your time of year! A time for having fun with friends and being glamorous. Here are a few Hollywood Teens to take makeup and style nods from:

Start with finding the perfect dress. I suggest you check out this wonderful website with some of the most AMAZING PROM FASHIONS at the BEST prices! (we're not related but I'd love to be).
Don't be confused by the pricing, the price is listed in English Pounds but is easily translated into US Dollars. They will even customize a PROM DRESSaccording to your measurements (check sizing chart for European compared to US sizes). When you see these dresses you will die! They are SO gorgeous!!! And the prices are so low, it’s worth the wait! Here’s some of my faves:
Once you find your dream dress, style the makeup and hair around that.
A great dress doesn’t need a lot of accessories and jewelry, but nice earrings and a handbag that compliments the dress will pull it all together.
Notice Selena Gomez keeps the makeup simple and neutral, heavy on the lashes. She’s wearing a set of thick falsies which is a great accent at an evening event. For soft rose shimmery tones on the eyes try Urban Decays Naked 3 Palette! To make your lip color last, smooth a layer of Stila lip Tint before making the lips glossy and nude shimmery, like with Butter of London’s LIPPY SHIMMERS in pink, peach, or gold tones. Next, dance like Cinderella and enjoy!

How to Book Beautiful Bridal Makeup and Hair!

It’s that time again-Wedding Season!! And what better way to celebrate brides than a little “how to” choose what I think is the loveliest Hair and makeup that fits you and your personality:). SO many former Brides have come to me after their wedding (when someone else did it) and say that their makeup was way too heavy or didn’t fit their personality or that they had to re-do it themselves after a random makeup artist did their face without understanding them as a person….

1) ALWAYS DO A HAIR and MAKEUP TEST before your big day. That’s my recommendation. You don’t need surprises like that on your big day:)

2) ALWAYS make sure your Makeup or hair person understands what you like and don’t like. DONT BE AFRAID TO COMMUNICATE with them. It’s the only way you’ll get what you want.

3) BE REALISTIC! if your hair is shoulder length , don’t expect a hairstylist to be able to create some of the updos below unless you buy her some hair Extentions to put in.

4) KNOW YOUR FACE. If you see a picture of a celebrity and you expect a makeup artist to make you look exactly like her, you may be disappointed. Remember that every face, eye shape, eye color, nose, eyebrows, mouth, lips, cheek bones, etc are different, but an artist should get you close to the vibe you are going for. Again, if you hate black eyeliner, say so! She or he should be able to show you options.

5) HAVE A STYLE. If your wedding is out in the woods, try some nice golds and bronzes ( at your comfort level). If your Wedding has a vintage or retro theme, try a nice red lip and black cat eye to go with your classic surroundings.

6). RELAX!! This is YOUR day and you should feel, beautiful and happy. Don’t let hair and makeup be a stress factor. Let it be fun!! Once you are happy with your artist (s) in the trials, relax, sit back, have a mimosa, put on some happy music and ENJOY!

7). CALL ME FIRST! LOL I use only waterproof, skin-like airbrush makeup that looks really natural. And I guarantee my work and your satisfaction:). I’ve also got several excellent hair and makeup people in my arsenal who feel the same way, . We serve all of California, Vegas and beyond (travel fees may apply).

Airbrushing makeup foundation, bronzes, blush, and more!

Happy new year readers!!! I thought it would Cool to talk about airbrushing. I know that not many folks have access to it on a daily basis but I’m going to share a few jobs where I use airbrush makeup. The truth is, there is a company that is making it easier for consumers to use on a daily basis and that is . This lightweight, compact little machine has most noticeably a UNIQUE GUN that uses water based OR silicone foundations AND DOESNT NEED TO BE CLEANED IN-BETWEEN USES!!! This us unheard’s a true miracle.
I’ve ditched my big powerful compressors and I’ve been taking this one on ALL MY JOBS:). It’s so easy anyone can do it,
Here’s a recent job I used it on:

Pop singer Zhavea

I used Elementwo ( foundation and blush and bronze shimmer with the element2beauty airbrush gun and compressor. (

It’s SO easy! Just pour a few drops of foundation into the gun, pull back on the button and make circles with the gun about 3 inches from your skin until you’re happy with the amount of coverage..Perfection!

She’s also wearing the original Urban Decay NAKED palette and gloss from Lorac in Mark mixed with gold pigment from Makeup Forever. Her black eyeliners are Pop Beauty’s Inliner black and My One Liner. She’s also wearing Lash Extentions Mascara from Pop Beauty.

No more acne!!!

Victoria Rowe's Hollywood Makeup Tips!

Everyday people ask me, “Why am I breaking out?” This seems to be the number one question from my actors, models, and many other clients. 95% of the time I find out that they’re not moisturizing correctly, Not moisturizing at all, or they are under moisturizing. They think that moisturizer will “break me out “. This couldn’t be farther from the truth.

In a dry and hot climate like Southern California, Arizona, Nevada, and New Mexico the number one cause of acne is DEHYDRATION. Your skin creates extra oil when its water levels are low which causes you to break out because the oil collects on the face and attaches itself to dirt and Bacteria, trapping them in the pores and clogging them turning them into acne. Using a lightweight, oil free Moisturizer or Water-gel can make everything go away. Let me explain.

Safer cosmetics for a safer tomorrow!!

Check this out from the campaign for Safe Cosmetics!!!!!:

Dear Victoria,

Because of supporters like you, we can celebrate some amazing accomplishments in 2013, and with your ongoing support, we’ll continue to work for safer cosmetics in 2014. Here’s a sampling of what we accomplished this year with your help:

Over 50,000 cancer survivors and safe cosmetics supporters demanded that Revlon take cancer-causing chemicals out of its makeup.
The world’s largest retailer Walmart announced it will no longer sell cosmetics or cleaners made with certain toxic chemicals.
Target launched a new standard to promote safer personal care products.
The world’s largest consumer products company Procter & Gamble agreed to globally phase out triclosan and DEP.
Johnson & Johnson made good on its promise to remove toxic chemicals from its children’s bath products in all the countries where it does business.
Congress introduced the Safe Cosmetics and Personal Care Products Act of 2013, groundbreaking legislation that would phase out toxic ingredients and strengthen FDA oversight of the $50 billion cosmetics industry.
Your gift today will allow us to continue this exciting and critical work in 2014 so that we can protect the health of consumers and workers by getting dangerous chemicals out of cosmetics and personal care products.

We hope you’ll join us in celebrating these victories as we ring in the new year. Cheers to a year of happiness to all of you and even greater successes in 2014!

Janet, Sarada, Margie, Cindy, Jamie, Shannon and all of us at the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics

Tips for Great Halloween Makeup!!

It’s that time again! Time for ghosts and goblins, witches and zombies to come out at night and play! But what to use for the make up, hmmmm…
If you live in a big city like L A there are infinite possibilities for studio quality Halloween makeup including prosthetics, latex and silicone appliances, etc., but most costume makeup can be found right at home and at the local mall.

Before you buy the typical greasepaint kits from the drug store, Target, or the Halloween mart, be aware of all the mineral oil, petroleum, and parabens that are in those cheap products. Why break out from all the oil and expose yourself or your children to toxins you don’t need?? Some of the best reds and blacks are right there in your bathroom: use a favorite lipstick like Tarte cosmetics glamazon™ pure performance 12-hour lipstick in “wild”red really lasts and contains healthy, treatment oriented ingredients. Use this for blood or red tones on the face!

For black eyeliner that is going in your eye or your child’s eye I only chose Pop Beauty
INLINER Black. Formulated by an eye doctor, this 100% vegetable product is totally waterproof, tear proof, smudge proof, and sweat proof inside the rim of the eye and contains all natural ingredients. It’s the ONLY liner I know of that was made for lining the inside of the eye specifically and is safe for contacts and sensitive eyes.

Another black eyeliner that’s good for using on your or your childs face is Bare Essentuals Round the Clock Waterproof Eyeliner in “Midnight” (black).

If you need to smear black all over the face without causing a breakout and while keeping that strong color all night long, I highly recommend Tartes Amazonian Clay waterproof liner with double ended brush-awesome!!!

ZOMBIES, witches, superheroes, and more can be created with a simple homemade recipe for white face paint, just add colors from you eyeshadow palettes and black eyeliners at home:
Many commercial face paints contain chemicals you don’t want, such as heavy metals or allergens. Here is a recipe for a homemade white face paint you can make that uses natural, non-toxic ingredients. How to make White Face Makeup at home:

2 tablespoons solid white shortening
5 teaspoons cornstarch
1 teaspoon white flour
3-5 drops glycerin
Make the Face Paint

Mix the cornstarch and flour together.
Use a fork to blend in the shortening.
Slowly mix in the glycerin until you have a creamy mixture.
You can use this white face paint as it is or you can mix in a few drops of fruit juice or food coloring to attain any color you need. Be aware, adding colorings may result in tha product which could stain your skin.
Apply the face paint with a paintbrush or sponge, taking care to avoid getting it in the eyes.
To remove this face paint, first use a tissue to remove as much face paint as possible. Then wash the face with soap and warm water.
(Reprinted from chemistry by Ann Marie Helmenstein, PhD.)

Eyelash Glue is the Key:
Liquid Latex is nothing more than eyelash glue, and you can add homemade lumps just by adding bits of loose oatmeal from your kitchen before the latex dries to create an awesome zombie face! Also, spread eyelash glue on the face when makeup dries , using a cool blow dryer lightly dry a layer or 2 of the latex on the face, and then poke holes in it with your fingers. This will create poc-faced zombie skin! Use black and gray eye shadows for shading your zombie face!

Now for an easy FAKE BLOOD recipe if you need a drippy face or body blood:

-White corn syrup, Blue food coloring, Red food coloring, Cornstarch, Water

Place approximately one tablespoon of cornstarch into a bowl or large glass. Add half a cup of white corn syrup to the same container and mix thoroughly. Add about 1/4 to 1/8 of a cup of water to the mixture, to make it thick but still thin enough it can drip (about the consistency of blood!)
Next, add about 15 drops of red food coloring to the mixture and stir it in until it’s blended. Blood really isn’t bright red though, so that’s where the blue food coloring comes in. Start by adding one drop of blue food coloring and stir. The mixture will be thin at first, but once the corn syrup dries, with the help of the cornstarch, it will become stiffer, and will stick to just about anything. The good news is, it’s mostly sugar and water, so it’s very easy to wash the fake blood off when Halloween is over.

I hope this blog helps you and your kids to,have a safe and fun Halloween!!!
